A Medical Approach to
Constitutionalism
First of its kind, the Constitutional Order Institute is dedicated to advancing peace through medically inspired approach. That is, first, we perceive state as a living organism—one that is composed of multiple institutions with each tasked to perform specialized function(s). Second, we treat conflict as a malfunction of those institutions constituting “authoritarianism”—a pandemic disease in search of treatment. Third, we prescribe a market-compliant (aka Republican) Constitution which on the one hand functionalizes institutions and on the other minimizes violence globally.

What is Wrong With Peace Research
As of now, most peace research is driven by abductive logic; that is, scholars begin with visible outcomes and work backwards to propose plausible explanations. While apparently persuasive, this “outside-in” approach is at best inadequate and at worst misleading. To be specific, it frustrates investigators to zero-in on real causes of conflict much the same way it fails herbalists to pinpoint underlying causes of fever; law enforcement officials to apprehend alleged culprits; and suspecting partners to ascertain kids’ paternities. Notably, these puzzles are best resolved by “inside-out” or scientific approach—one that natural scientists adopt. That is, first biologists identify cell as the basic unit of life. Second, they observe that cell comprises membrane, mitochondria, Golgi bodies and DNAs etc. Third, they derive cell theory out of it. And fourth, they take blood/saliva samples to diagnose causes of fever (e.g., tuberculosis, hepatitis etc.). Geneticists use cell theory to match kids with parents and law enforcement officials use it to apprehend real culprits.

WHAT WE DO
To grasp peace, we adopt a scientific approach to peace. That is, first we identify “market” as the basic unit of society. Second, we discover that market consists of
- Goods/services
- Value-consideration
- Actors—producers, consumers, and middlemen, to be precise.
Third, we derive a general theory of law which offers a meta constitution to be reinforced by international law. Fourth, we test countries’ constitutions to explain/predict incidents of conflict: terrorism, territorial disputes, poverty, great power competition, you name it.
Our Focus
KEEPING PEACE AT HOME
More than ever, today the United States is threatened from within:
By Officials
- Mostly non-white, supporting—wittingly or unwittingly—autocratic/theocratic regimes abroad.
By Foreign Diasporas
- Lobbying for legislation/policies that strengthen undemocratic institutions/individuals back home.
By Ordinary Citizens
- Not fully aware of what principles inspired the foundation of this Republic.
The United States is safer and stronger when it enforces the Republican Constitution in true spirit; that is, it
- Ensures that public officials keep governance separate from religion.
- Impeaches, disqualifies, and purges officials involved in supporting autocracies and theocracies abroad.
- Denaturalizes, deports and disqualifies from entering the United States members and loyalists of foreign political parties that contravene the Republican Constitution.
- Maintains strong national defense until every country adopts the Republican Constitution.
KEEPING PEACE IN THE WORLD
Popularly known as “political association” the state resembles a non-profit organization (NPO) which functions to the benefit of consumers (citizens) only when watched constantly. Left unwatched, corporate practice suggests, NPOs are inclined to become for-profit organizations (FPOs) where officials act as owners or shareholders rather than trustees. Absent a global watchdog, it is therefore hardly surprising that many states emerged either as FPOs or became one down the road. Notably, they opted constitutions that defy principles of market such as religion-state separation, accountable executive, functional legislature, voluntary federalism, and unchecked fundamental rights to name a few. Collectively, these violations engender national armies, deadly weapons, war of all sorts, national debts, corruption, poverty, emigration you name it.
To ensure that the U.S. is free from perpetual war, national debts, and illegal immigration among other crises, it must either
- invite other countries to join the federation
- create laws/structures that extend the Republican Constitution abroad.
Caution: The first option may not work out easily and it may not be an ideal solution either—at least not until domestic institutions are designed to cope with additional burden.
The second option demands that the United States
In Long Term
- Establishes world court(s) that enforce provisions of the Republican Constitution
In Short Term
- Maintains registery of individuals who inspire, design, defend, and operate dysfunctional institutions and laws.
- Freezes assets, denies entry and deports such individuals and their families.
- Makes aid conditional to complying with the Republican Constitution.
